In the Community and Regions

The BHP Billiton Aquatic Super Series Community Program will see past and present athletes embark in a program that will engage communities throughout regional and metropolitan Western Australia with the event and its sports.

The Community Program will deliver joint sports clinics (water polo and swimming) into regions including the Goldfields, Kimberley, Pilbara, South West and Perth Metropolitan. Each clinic will feature a range of fun and exciting programs including trial events, clinics, community visits and more. The program will be run by elite athletes and coaches from both sports, giving the participants the opportunity to get up close and personal with their sporting heroes.

As well as expanding the reach and impact of the BHP Billiton Aquatic Super Series, the Community Program will also deliver important messages on living a healthy and active lifestyle through the participation in the sports of water polo and swimming.

The Community Program will take place throughout 2012 and the summer months of 2013, with key activities in the final weeks leading up to the BHP Billiton Aquatic Super Series in January 2013.
