Eventscorp, the events division of Tourism Western Australia, continues to make a significant contribution to Western Australia through event tourism each year. Eventscorp's areas of expertise include event management, television broadcast, marketing, research, media, government relations and venue identification.
Eventscorp achieves its goals by implementing a number of strategies which include:
- Identifying and attracting a diverse range of world class events to Western Australia.
- Providing funding for both major events as well as regional events though the Regional Events Scheme and Royalties for Regions, as well as and cultural events through the ACE Scheme.
- Supporting and developing events from concept to successful implementation.
- Managing and growing events, where appropriate, particularly in regional areas.
- Leveraging tourism, business and media opportunities through events.
The Western Australian community is proud of its record for staging and hosting major events. Western Australia has effectively hosted blockbuster events such as the Margaret River Pro Surfing, Telstra Rally Australia, Red Bull Air Race, A Day in Pompeii Exhibition, 5 Oceans Yacht Race, Australasian Safari, Ironman Western Australia Triathlon, ISAF Sailing World Championships, the V8 Supercars and the Hyundai Hopman Cup Tennis. Eventscorp sets world benchmarks in organisation and professionalism. Post-event research consistently reports high satisfaction amongst stakeholders with Eventscorp's organisation, management and support before, during and after an event.
The Department of Regional Development and Lands manages more than 2.5million square kilometres of State land and administers the $6.1billion Royalties for Regions program that is developing towns and communities in regional Western Australia.
- Through Royalties for Regions, the equivalent of 25 per cent of the State’s mining and onshore petroleum royalties will be returned to the State’s regional areas each year as an additional investment in projects, infrastructure and community services.
- Western Australia’s population growth creates challenges in providing high quality essential services, infrastructure and land, so that people want to visit, live, work and stay in regional Western Australia.

- building capacity in regional communities;
- retaining benefits in regional communities;
- improving services to regional communities;
- attaining sustainability;
- expanding opportunity; and
- growing prosperity
